Report to: Head of NBU & Claim
Key Accountabilities
- Ensure that claims are settled correctly and timely.
- Investigate doubtful claims where necessary.
- Liaison with the authorities or relevant organizations (hospitals, doctors, police, court…) in case of claim investigation or disputes.
- Maintain a good claim record experience for the company. Co-ordinate and share actual experience with the underwriting team to improve underwriting process from new business.
- To maintain accurate records relating to work processed as well as work in progress.
- Ensure reconciliation of relevant records with corresponding general ledger accounts.
- Understanding and coaching make staff understand technical information on company products and new business procedures.
- Share management responsibilities and effectively delegate tasks or activities to team members.
- Process management: updating, training and making induction.
- Ensuring efficiency and effectiveness of each transaction/ process and the integrity of the claims handling process.
- Working together with team members to set their clear and attainable goals and supporting them to achieve the department goals, supervising and motivating staff.
- Acknowledging and rewarding the outstanding exceptional performance or contribution of staff.
- Be responsible for the performance of the Claim team.
- Work closely with the other functions of Operations in a team based environment.
- Effectively delegate tasks or activities to Team members.
- Maintain professional office environment by ensuring staff’s compliance with company policies (labor regulations, office rules, dress policies, etc.)
- Lead in a pleasant, professional demeanor, treat coworker with courtesy and respect, act in a trustworthy manner.
- Acknowledge and reward the outstanding performance or contribution of staff.
- Actively seek way to make continuous improvement in underwriting processes to increase service quality, decrease paperwork & turn-around time.
Job Requirements:
- Education: University graduate.
- Experience:
- Capable to establish good contact with relevant authorities and organization, in particular insurance investigators.
- Strong in people and process management.
- Good insurance knowledge.
- Good English communication.
- Excellent verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to contribute to a productive work environment: positive attitude, team-oriented, customer-oriented.
- Proficient in MS Office. Master other advances technology preferred.
- Time management skills and organizational ability for project management.
- Being able to build strong relationships with staff at all levels within the Company and sales force.
- Must be able to maintain a good helpful relationship with claimants, and diplomatically deal with difficult claims ensuring the maintenance of the company‘s reputation.
- Must be able to communicate clearly and maintain strong relationship with direct manager (Operations Manager), other staff in the Operations and Finance Divisions, the sales force and external customers.
- Must be able to develop good relationships with relevant bodies
