Key Accountabilities
1. Legal tasks
Legal advice
- Assess the impact of new/amended regulations on the business and present to the managements appropriate steps that may be taken in countering the impact and/meeting legal requirements;
- Assist or participate in identifying, analyzing legal issues, and providing legal opinion on matters relating to daily business operations of functional departments in a timely and accurate manner;
Legal review
- Assist or participate in preparation/review/update of new insurance product programs, internal regulations of the Company when requested;
- Assist or participate in drafting or reviewing contracts, agreements, other documents and materials as instructed by the line manager in a timely and accurate manner;
- Draft templates of contract/agreement and/or review contracts/agreements prepared by related functional departments to ensure they are legally binding;
- Review main contents of the Company‘s website and marketing materials for ensuring legal compliance and protecting the Company‘s reputation;
Laws and regulations movement updates and comments
- Update new legal information to the overall Company, including make requests to related department heads to set up, revise and implement internal policies for consistency with new laws and regulations and/or meeting any change in the legal requirements promptly;
- Do research and prepare the Company’s official letters of comments on insurance business laws and regulations to MOF and IAV at their requests;
- Perform legal checking on the Company‘s documentation prepared by related functional departments before submitting them to competent authorities or other organization or before publishing for ensuring all in compliance with the current laws;
Litigation settlement
- Represent company in litigation if and when applicable;
- Cooperate with external lawyer on litigation cases and keep company’s management updated with latest status of those court cases
2. Other tasks
- Perform such other works as the Line Manager may assign from time to time
Job Requirements
Qualification and Experience
- Graduated from Law University. Lawyer practicing certificate is required.
- Minimum 8 years experience working for law firms or as a legal manager for a company operating in insurance, finance or bank sectors;
Knowledge
- Knowledge on Vietnamese laws and regulations, especially insurance business law, corporate law, labor law, investment, finance…
- Able to work under pressure;
- Good knowledge of Word, Excel, Powerpoint…
Skills and Competencies
- Fluency in both spoken and written English with strong written skills;
- Good interpersonal skills;
- Deep knowledge of the regulatory environment in Vietnam
- Team-work attitude.
